Taught in Spanish.
Course Narrative: In SPAN 425 I became more familiarized with well known Mexican authors and their works of literature. This course contributes to my fulfillment of MLO 3 because many of the novels, short stories and articles demonstrated the authors’ point of view of certain social issues that were occurring or that had occurred in Mexico. In this course I analyzed the short stories, articles and novels of Mexican authors. I got the chance to share many of my perspectives with my peers in discussion forums and I also managed to gain much more knowledge while reading their analyses as well. We were also asked to choose a novel by a Mexican author of our choice. We had to make a presentation and present our argument and analysis of the novel chosen to the class. I also had to do an essay in which I expanded my argument using scholarly articles to support my claims. I wish to further develop my area of analyzing poetry since this is an aspect I still tend to struggle with.
