Course Narrative: In this course Span 305, Spanish for the Professions, I was able to meet the outcomes related to MLO 1 and MLO 3. With respect to MLO 1, I was able to communicate effectively in Spanish in three modes: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational, and in a culturally appropriate manner in a variety of social and professional settings and I sought to do so at the Advanced Low level of language proficiency, according to ACTFL Guidelines. On the other hand, MLO 3 requires you to develop an understanding of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of Hispanic societies. In this Spanish course, I was able to learn different work perspectives and apply professional vocabulary. Also, during class time, I was able to practice my communications skills by sharing a critical resume of any reading document assigned in class. Also, I was able to participate in productive debates on any topic assigned during class. At the same time, I did weekly reflections, which allowed me to understand the course materials. In general, Span 305 helped me develop my communication and grammar using a more formal vocabulary in any type of professions like education, business, office work, healthcare, among others. One of the final assignments was to write a recommendation letter and I had to write a script with an appropriate, formal vocabulary. This assignment helped me to practice my writing in Spanish at a more professional level. Recommendation letter
